  15. Paradise allows to transfer files, directories and ADF's (Amiga disk
  16. images) between an Amiga and a PC using the parallel ports and a special
  17. cable (a ParNet cable with a little modification, not so hard to build).
  18. It's, in my opinion, easy to use and has good performances:
  19.  ~33 Kbytes/s with an Amiga 500 @ 7 Mhz and a Pentium @ 233 Mhz.
  20. I don't have other benchmarks just now, but the v0.53b was tested with an
  21. Amiga 1200 @ 14 Mhz reaching a rate twice as much the Amiga 500, like this
  22. version should do. Note: I can't assure Paradise works with (very?) fast
  23. Amiga's 'cause I haven't received anything from that users.

  25. Paradise needs Amiga OS 2.0+ but works properly under OS 1.3, but with
  26. some limitations when uploading files from the Amiga to the PC (due some
  27. incompatible routines; I hope to make them fully compatible with OS 1.3
  28. in future).
  29. Under the PC it requires MS-DOS 7, maybe other versions are good too.
  30. Windows 9x is necessary only for the long file names support.

  48. Paradise permette di trasferire files, intere directory e immagini dei
  49. dischetti, tra un Amiga ed un PC usando la porta parallela e un cavo
  50. speciale (simile ad un cavo ParNet ma leggermente modificato, abbastanza
  51. facile da costruire). Ritengo che sia abbastanza facile da usare ed ha
  52. delle buone prestazioni, in termini di velocita' di trasferimento:
  53.  ~33 Kbytes/s con un Amiga 500 @ 7 Mhz e un Pentium @ 233 Mhz.
  54. Purtroppo non ho altri dati per ora, comunque la precedente versione e'
  55. stata testata con un Amiga 1200 @ 14 Mhz, raggiungendo una velocita'
  56. doppia rispetto a quella di un A500, quindi c'e' da supporre che anche
  57. questa possa fare lo stesso. NB: non posso garantire che Paradise funzioni
  58. anche con gli Amiga (molto?) veloci, perche' non ho ricevuto nessuna
  59. statistica dai loro utenti.

  61. Paradise richiede un s.o. Amiga OS 2.0 o superiore, ma funziona bene anche
  62. con l'OS 1.3, anche se con alcune limitazioni durante i trasferimenti di
  63. file dall' Amiga verso il PC (questo per via di alcune routine non
  64. compatibili, ma spero di risolvere questo problema in futuro).
  65. Con il PC richiede l'MS-DOS 7, probabilmente funziona anche con le altre
  66. versioni. Windows 9x e' necessario solo per la gestione dei nomi di file
  67. lunghi.
